CRM Crisis Relief Ministry

CRM Crisis Relief Ministry mobilizes the faith community to partner with law enforcement agencies, victim service organizations, and emergency management to bring appropriate physical, emotional and spiritual support to victims of crime, disaster and terrorism.

Emergency Volunteer Project (EVP)

Grace Community Church is partnering with the Emergency Volunteer Project (EVP) for Israel to recruit volunteers in the DFW area who can go to Israel and serve as a volunteer during times of emergency or war. Volunteers will be part of official local Israeli emergency teams. The EVP was created in 2009 because Israel needs more people to deal with increased threats and weapon systems. Since most Israeli men up to the age of 45 are drafted in times of emergencies, Israel is reaching out to its Christian friends to help protect its most precious assets - its families, women and children.

EVP will train the volunteers who qualify in a two-day seminar in a yet-to-be determined date and firehouse location in the DFW area. The first day will be an orientation and the second day will be practical breakout sessions in the area of support you will be involved.

To qualify you must:

  1. Get off work for a two-day seminar
  2. Complete an Application Form and a Medical Release Form with your doctor's signature saying you are healthy enough for the assignment.
  3. Be available at a moment's notice to fly to Israel to work in a specific area for ten days (includes two travel days).
  4. You must have a current passport to go to Israel.

If you feel you qualify, please contact Lea Ann Hirth for an application at  leaann@gracearlington.com.

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team

CERT training is designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster.   The training covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not readily available. You will be able to do the greatest good for the greatest number of victims after a disaster, while protecting yourself from becoming a victim.  Some of the topics covered are disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, terrorism and disaster psychology. To graduate, the team must use the skills they have learned in class in a disaster simulation drill. Training dates and class size are limited.

Red Cross Shelter Team

Grace is partnering with the American Red Cross and the City of Arlington to provide sheltering in our facility for those affected by hurricanes, tornadoes or other disasters that would cause them to be without their homes for a short or extended period of time. We recently were a shelter for Hurricane Ike victims from the city of Beaumont, Texas.  We have a shelter team that works hard to help provide for the needs of our guests, spiritually as well as physically.  A six hour training class is all that is required in order to participate on our team.
