A TASTE OF HEAVEN

Once a year, Grace Community Church transforms into a global village, where you can travel from Japan to Madagascar, Jamaica, and Mexico. You can try food from all corners of the world. Foods that will tantalize, stretch, excite, and sometimes even burn your tongue. You can meet people from all over the world. You can do all this and more at our annual World Fair at Grace Community Church.

I attended the 2025 World Fair, and it was such an enjoyable time. So many beautiful smiling faces that I am either meeting for the first time, or haven’t seen in a long time.

Jamaica is the country that I help to represent since my husband is from there. When I first walked into the World Fair at setup time, there was an exciting anticipation in the air. Everyone is moving around, bringing in food, decorations, instruments, and other things. The smells are amazing! Being able to see so many people gathering in one spot to share their culture and food puts a smile on our Heavenly Father’s face, because the body of Christ looks just like this...many different people, many different shades, many different talents all together.

One wonderful lady from the Colombian table hugged me at the end because we were chatting throughout the fair since our tables were right next to each other and sharing each other’s food! It’s a super fun place for the kids as well, and I always look forward to watching them bust down the piñata and run as fast as they can to grab all the candies.

Should Grace keep having the World Fair? With no question, absolutely yes!! This is ministry, as food is one of the easiest ways to gather people together, love them, and get them to open up with their life stories, and show them maybe some new things they have never known about a particular culture. The World Fair is definitely a one-of-a-kind event that I look forward to every single year.
