72 Hours of Prayer
A SPIRITUAL REFRESH FOR UTA
AUTHOR: TAYLOR DUITSMAN
From the evening of April 14th to April 17th, Cornerstone College Ministry, alongside fellow UTA campus ministries BSM, Tri-C, and Focus, organized the 72 Hours of Prayer for UTA. This event was exactly as it sounds: three continuous days of open prayer right on the UTA campus.
A dedicated prayer tent was set up outside the UTA library, featuring various prayer stations curated by each ministry. These stations offered diverse ways to engage, from spaces for prayer requests to prompts guiding participants to pray for specific people, groups, and organizations within the university community.
A Campus United in Prayer
The heart behind the 72 Hours of Prayer was twofold: to intercede for UTA students and the campus as a whole, and to create opportunities for students to both receive and offer prayer. Hundreds of students passed through the tent during those days, with ministry volunteers stationed there every hour to pray alongside them.
It was incredibly encouraging to see so many students eager to learn about what we were doing and actively participate. The sheer volume of prayer requests—cries to God for healing, peace, breakthrough, and provision—highlighted a deep spiritual hunger on campus. While many were prayed for, it also showed how many are still seeking help and answers.
Continued Prayer and Outreach
Though the 72 Hours of Prayer have concluded, it’s vital that we continue to pray for and pursue these students who are lost and seeking answers to their questions and needs. Please pray alongside the Cornerstone Ministry that we will have ongoing opportunities to connect with these students who are seeking something beyond themselves, and introduce them to Jesus, the fulfiller of all our needs and desires.
