The Mission of the Apostle Paul
05.25.25 | by Gary Hutchison
This week, we explore Paul’s mission, beginning in Acts 13 at the Spirit-led church in Antioch. In a time of worship and fasting, the Holy Spirit calls Barnabas and Paul to be set apart for God’s mission.
Their journey begins in faith, without full direction, but with bold obedience. They face spiritual opposition as they proclaim the gospel, yet God uses even this resistance. Paul's first mission marks the start of a life devoted to spreading the gospel, planting churches, and writing foundational New Testament letters.
We can still learn a lot from the beginning of Paul’s mission and his example for the church. We are to worship, listen, send, and step boldly into God’s heart for the world, reaching the lost.
