You’ve Got What It Takes

As a father, it is easy to carry a heavy burden of guilt when your children wander, but this sermon powerfully reminds us that a child’s rebellion is not proof of your failure. Just like the father of the prodigal son, or biblical heroes like Job and Samuel, you can do many things right and still watch a loved one make poor choices through their own free will. Your calling is not to be a perfect savior—Jesus already has that covered—but to remain a faithful, loving anchor who is ready to welcome them home. Trust that God can reach your child in the distant places where you cannot, and remember that you are living in the middle of the story, not the end. You are a diligent provider and protector, and you truly have what it takes.
