Loving One Another

“Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.” NASB

Jesus said in John 13:35 that we would know who His real followers were by how we love one another. Home groups at Grace Community Church are smaller gatherings of believers who get together to encourage one another with the Bible (Heb 10:24-25) and love each other. Recently the Williams home group and the practical helps ministry had the opportunity to help a single mom in their group who was moving. Here is James Williams sent me after that day.

Sunday was an amazing day. It did my heart good to see so many people head out on a cold day, knowing they would get their cars and their shoes muddy while helping a friend in need. These families showed up on a Sunday afternoon and made it through icy puddles to Angela's house to load the truck with all the boxes and furniture. The attached picture shows some of the families who came to load up on that cold day. What the picture doesn’t show is that there were even more families who joined us at the new house and brought everything in while being lightly rained on. It doesn't tell the story of the guys who assembled furniture, or the ladies who made the beds and put away dishes. The picture doesn't capture the many children who helped. Children who didn't complain a bit, but simply carried things that needed to be carried, and did it with a great attitude.

This is what the church should look like and He was glorified Sunday afternoon just as much as if we'd pulled out a guitar and sang some worship songs.

Amen James! If you are looking for a home group to be a part of or are interested in joining the practical helps team then contact jonathan@gracearlington.com
