Associate Pastor of Hispanic Ministries
Alexei Rodriguez is an associate pastor for our Hispanic speaking families and individuals here at Grace Community Church. His greatest passion is teaching and discipleship for new believers. He also wants to equip and encourage their members to share their faith on a regular basis to help fulfill the Great Commission stated in Matthew 28:18-20.
Alexei was born in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba, on April 21, 1977. He grew up with his parents and his older brother in a loving family environment, but without God. At the age of 15 he went to study in a vocational school in the capital of the province. It was there that he first heard about the salvation that God offers through Jesus and saw his first Bible. Christian friends explained in detail the plan of salvation to him and then he finally accepted Christ as the Lord and Savior of his life in 1995. From the beginning he felt a longing to know the Word of God, constantly asking questions and seeking answers while studying the Bible. His first year was devoted to studying the Word and growing spiritually and preparing for a life of ministry.
He started attending the Church of the New Pines community, and it was there that he met his future wife, Sarahi. His first pastoral role was in youth ministry, and a few months later he began a church plant in a remote community, and served as their full-time pastor. He married on July 8, 2000, and a year later their daughter, Mariannis, was born. In 2003 he began a new church plant in Guaracabulla located in the center of the country and approximately 6 kilometers from his hometown.
In 2000 he began his theological studies at the New Pines Seminary in Cuba where he earned a degree in Theology and in 2010 graduated in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Central de las Villas. That same year he traveled to the United States with his wife and daughter to continue his pastoral work as a member of the Grace Community Church pastoral staff. Alexei serves as the associate pastor over our Hispanic ministry and works closely with Jose Iglesias.
Alexei likes to spend time with family and enjoys reading, fishing, and running.
