Jail Ministry
| Jesus specifically mentions the importance of ministering not only to the poor, oppressed, and the sick, but also to those who are in jail.
Our jail ministry functions primarily through opportunities that exist in Tarrant and Dallas County jail programs via Chaplain Don Anderson, Regional Director for Pacific Youth Correctional Ministries and a member of Grace.
Here are just a few of those opportunities:
1. Juvenile Mentoring Program in Arlington. If a teenager going through the court system as a truancy case opts to have a mentor, they will be matched with a volunteer mentor who will visit with them at least seven times within a three-month period. Training will be provided to the mentors ahead of time, and the hope is that the teenager will encounter Christ and be discipled through this relationship.
2. Mansfield Substance Abuse Facility. You can share your testimony or lead a Bible Study!
3. Dallas and Tarrant County Jail. You can share your testimony, lead a Bible Study, or lead singing among inmates at these facilities who voluntarily attend the services.
4. Letot (Youth facility for runaway boys and girls in Dallas). You can mentor a teenager.
5. Concerned Citizens of Dallas Youth Facility. You can share your testimony.
All these opportunities come with orientation and training, and will give you the blessing of investing in the lives of those who are hungry for a new chance in life - a new chance that is best realized by turning to Jesus!
