International Ministry

At Grace we are committed to obeying the Lord of the Harvest by doing our part to spread the good news of the gospel to those who have never heard.

Leading others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ in today's world must involve our response to His "Great Commission" ("...and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth" - Acts 1:8).

Genesis 12:3 (and Galatians 3:14) says that in Abraham (and eventually Jesus) all "families" of the earth would be blessed. Revelation 7:9 says that multitudes "from every nation and tribe and peoples and tongues" will stand before the throne of God, praising Him. Matthew 24:14 says that the gospel shall be preached "in the whole world for a witness to all the nations" (people groups). From these and many other passages we take our vision to participate in reaching the over 4,000 people groups in the world who have never heard the gospel or who have no viable church. These "unreached peoples" account for approximately 20% of the world's population, or 1.2 billion people! Most of these people groups can be found in what is referred to as the 10/40 Window - a region of Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia within the latitudes of 10 and 40 degrees north.

On the basis of the book of Acts, we believe that the local church must be primarily involved in the sending and supporting of cross-cultural workers. Our commitment at Grace is to send and support "our own," those whom the Lord has raised up among us for the privilege of cross-cultural service. Our long-range goal is to continue sending mature ministers to unreached peoples in the 10/40 Window, equipped and part of an effective team to meet physical and spiritual needs, and plant churches.

The Lord of the Harvest has brought the nations to us, and has strategically placed us to minister the gospel cross-culturally right here at home. An important part of our outreach is to the internationals who live in Arlington - UTA's international students and their families; and the many refugees and immigrants who settle here. We desire is to build relationships with internationals and share the love of God. Some of the ways we do this are through free ESL (English as a Second Language) classes held at our church facility; and service projects for UTA international students.

We also have an on-going ministry to Mexico, through regular ministry trips led by our Hispanic pastor and his team.  We serve the poor and needy in Mexico through taking food, clothes, and the gospel to villages and cities.  We have opened children’s homes, built churches, and served the poor and the imprisoned.  Our youth, college and singles take regular mission trips to Mexico, as well as families and home groups.

At Grace, the day-to-day activities of our cross-cultural outreach are managed by the missions pastor with help from the missions leadership team. They meet regularly to pray and seek God's leading for present and future ministry. However, as the body of Christ, we are all called to obedience in reaching the unreached, either as senders or as goers. We all play a part.

Please contact our church office (817.860.7116) if you are interested in getting involved in the Cross-Cultural Ministry.
