Loren Bieg
Area Pastor - College and Young Adult Ministries, Community Outreach, Communications, Pastoral Counseling

As an area pastor, Loren leads our College ministry, The Cornerstone, and oversees leadership of our Young Adult,  and Pastoral Counseling Ministries. Grace Community Church's college ministry is based out of The Cornerstone, a historic house on the north border of the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) campus that is part residential discipleship for guys and part ministry base for outreach to area campuses.  Loren partners with Brad Marvine in oversight of the discipleship program at the Cornerstone and the young adult ministry. Our ministry to young adults is a community of 20's through mid-thirties singles and married couples. Loren oversees the Communications area including our church newsletter, website, and Podcast and is our alternate worship leader.

College Ministry is a passion for Loren because he experienced some of his most significant years of spiritual growth during his college years, while living at the Cornerstone. Loren’s passion is to know Christ and to develop a community of faith that provides deep and healthy friendships, an environment that encourages growth in a relationship with Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of His mission, and helps college students navigate, based upon Biblical wisdom, the transition into and out of the college years. Loren is also passionate about worship and helping others experience the true knowledge of God through worship.  Loren says, "He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5 NASB) We find our deepest connection to God through worship and suffering.  In those places a bond is formed with our Creator that the world cannot break." The Cornerstone is located at 312 College Street, just north of UTA campus and has resident rooms upstairs and kitchen and meeting rooms downstairs. Loren offices there so he can be available to do life with the residents and others who hang out at the house through the week. College guys who live there are engaged in discipleship relationships and ministry activities that build faith through biblical relationships and experience.

Loren was born in the bay area of San Francisco, grew up in Connecticut, and came to Arlington with his family as a teenager where he met Christ. After several years of touring with Christan rock bands, playing keyboards and singing, Loren returned to school to pursue his calling and a "real job" in vocational ministry. He earned his B.S. in Education from the University of North Texas in 1991, graduating cum laude, and an M.A. in counseling from Denver Seminary in 1993. Loren and his wife Sue were part of the planting team for GCC in 1987 at which time Loren led worship. Loren and Sue were the first couple to meet and marry at our church.

Loren also led our youth ministry from 1993-1998, at which time he was a founder of the Arlington Youth Minister's Network. Loren was a software and database developer from 1999-2005, and is a published writer of worship songs (I Am So Thankful – Mercy/Vineyard Publishing). He has contributed songs, singing, and playing to the two GraceGrown Music CDs. Loren is a member of the Young Adult Leaders Cartel, sponsored by RightNow.org.  He enjoys writing and recording music, family adventures, video production, reading, faux finishing, and NASCAR.

Loren lives in Arlington with his wife Sue and their children Erin, Emma, and Ethan.
