House of Prayer

The Lifeblood Of The Church
Acts 1:14 and 2:42 describe the believers in the early church as continually devoting themselves to prayer. It was then that they were filled with the Holy Spirit, and He granted them the power to do His ministry.

Do not think of prayer at Grace as merely another ministry among many for you to consider.Rather, think of it as the fuel that makes effective ministry possible. We can do ministry without prayer, but if we do, it will be of the flesh and lack any real power. That’s not how we want to do ministry at Grace! We want to hear from the Lord and walk in the wisdom and authority of His Spirit, allowing Him to do battle for us while we are obedient to do our part. Then our work will bear eternal fruit.

Our Obedience To Jesus
After Jesus clears the temples in the Gospels, He declares, “Is it not written, ‘My House shall be called a House of Prayer for all nations?” So we come - to pray for one another, our community, our nation, and the nations.

He calls us to pursue Him with passion, for we will only find Him when we seek him with our whole heart (Jeremiah 29:13). That is why we must cry out to God in travailing prayer. God must grant us a spirit of desperation so that we realize everything depends on Him. Unless God builds the house, we labor in vain (Psalm 127:1).

What It Looks Like At Grace
We encourage everyone to be a part of the House of Prayer at Grace. The House of Prayer consists of teams of five to ten people that meet for one hour each week in the Grace prayer center for a time of intercession. During this time we will pray for various ministries in the church, our church leaders and overseas workers, the sick, families, friends, neighbors, the needy, the lost, our community and nation, the nations, and our governmental leaders.
