God is Trusting You

In 2 Chron 2:11, the king of Tyre sent a letter to King Solomon and said: “Because the Lord loves His people, He made you king over them.” Just think, because God loves His people and wants what is best for His people, He put Solomon as a shepherd over their lives. God is trusting Solomon.

It shouldn’t surprise us that God is like that. Every parent understands that kind of behavior. As a parent, because we love our children, we are careful who we let watch over them. It has to be someone that we trust. God is the same way.

That means that for those of you who are parents, because God loves your children, He made you their parents. That means that for those of you who are elders, pastors, small group leaders, ministry leaders, and AdventureLand teachers, because God loves His people, He made you a shepherd over them.

This truth could even be applied beyond the ministry areas of the church. Because God loves your neighbors, He moved you into their neighborhood. Because God loves the people in your classroom, He placed you in that class. Because God loves the people in your office or work site, He made sure that you got that exact job and were placed in that exact spot.

God is more involved in orchestrating the events and circumstances of our lives than we know. He so loves the people of the world that He is arranging and disposing of the events of history and the details of our lives, that He might use you and me to be a blessing to them.

So be encouraged today. God has you exactly where He wants you. You are in the place and the position that you are in because God is passionately pursuing those you find yourself around. He wants to reach them. He wants to bless them. He wants to have a relationship with them. And He wants to use you to bring all that about. God is trusting you!
